Philomi
Schools can see what each learner has genuinely learned, and what should come next.
01The problem
Schools record activity, but few can say what a learner actually knows. Grades, completions and log-ins are scattered across systems and reset every term. Finishing a lesson is not mastery, and one test is only one moment. None of these records shows what a learner has genuinely demonstrated, what has not been looked at yet, or what should happen next.
02The system
Learning intelligence for schools and school groups.
Philomi keeps a persistent Learning Twin for each learner. Observations, project work and assessments attach to the concepts they show, together with the prerequisites each concept depends on. Only validated evidence can move a mastery state. The Twin connects curriculum, concepts and gaps to a next step with its reason. Philomi is a learning intelligence layer that sits alongside existing LMS and SIS platforms rather than replacing them.
03Why it matters
A persistent Learning Twin for each learner shows mastery backed by evidence, the gaps that hold them back and a clear next step.
Built for
- Schools and multi-campus school groups
- Teachers and school leaders
- Learners aged 4 to 18
- Families
04What it does
- 01
Persistent Learning Twin
Concept states backed by evidence, the prerequisites behind them, and what has not been assessed yet, kept across subjects and years.
- 02
Evidence before mastery
Work produces evidence candidates. A teacher, or a deterministic check, validates them, and only validated evidence changes mastery.
- 03
A next step with reasons
When a prerequisite is missing, the path changes, and the learner, teacher and family can all see why.
- 04
Governed school intelligence
Leaders see recurring gaps, thin evidence and active interventions. Campuses are compared in context, small groups suppressed, never ranked.
05Product in action
Screens are unedited captures of the public website of Philomi. Where the venture labels an example as illustrative or synthetic, that label is kept.
06How it works
- 01
Learning in the work
Projects, writing, explanations and observations produce evidence candidates about the concepts they show.
- 02
Validation
A teacher reviews each candidate, or a deterministic check confirms it where the answer is unambiguous.
- 03
Mastery state
Only validated evidence moves a concept from not assessed through emerging and developing to secure.
- 04
Next path
Curriculum, prerequisites and gaps set the next step, shown with its reason to learner, teacher and family.
07What makes it different
Philomi is not an LMS and not an AI tutor. AI output is never evidence, and unknown is never read as weak. Learners meet one companion whose presence changes with age and can be reduced or turned off. There are no streaks, points or badges, and no school, class or child is ranked.
08Trust and governance
People decide: AI drafts and suggests, and teachers, families and school leaders make the decisions. Data is minimised by design, and every access is governed and audited. There is no facial recognition, emotion detection, gaze tracking or behavioural scoring. AI responses pass safety, age and policy checks, with escalation to a person.
09In the portfolio
People
Philomi is the education venture in the founder's portfolio. It carries the shared method into schools: begin with what a learner has actually shown, let evidence come before any claim of mastery, keep teachers and families accountable for decisions, and build for daily classroom use in many languages.
10Where it stands
Offered through a strategic demo and a controlled pilot, with success measures agreed in advance.
